Overview

An Instructables book is being made and we want you to be in it!

O'Reilly's Maker Media team (the folks behind MAKE Magazine) is going to publish The Best of Instructables Volume I this fall and over 100 Instructables will be in it.

Since there are now over 14,000 Instructables (yow!) on the site we are asking for your help to choose some of the Instructables that will be included in the book. To do this we are opening up The Instructables Book Contest to every single Instructable on the site.

The process is simple. Any Instructable from August 2005 up to now can be entered into the contest. Once it is entered, that Instructable will be up for voting until August 10. The entries with the top 50 votes will be mentioned in the book and the authors will get a free copy when it's published.

That's it, the contest is open and the rest is up to you!

How It Works

Write an Instructable

Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Aug 4, 2005 and Aug 10, 2008 (11:59pm PT).

Enter

Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select The Instructables Book Contest. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.

Accepting

Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.

Judging

A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.

Winners

When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
